See You At The Pig…
The Salted Pig that is…
This is a new upscale gastropub located on 12th and Main in Downtown Riverside where Restaurant Omakase once was. The food is creative and the beer options are off the wall including a beer flight for those looking to try several different beers during their visit. While there are pig themed dishes like The Pig Board and The Pig Burger, you won’t find many bacon themed items but you’ll find anything from deviled eggs, foie in a jar, pork belly, steaks and more that are all going to be worth experiencing at least once. Be prepared to spend anywhere from $7 – $18 for appetizers, soups and salads and anywhere from $12 to $44 for main course items.
The wife and I enjoyed The Pig Board and the Ripped Pasta dish together. The Pig Board included apple smoked candied bacon, pancetta and prosciutto with a side of orange zest sauce and pickled pineapple chunks. It was rather amusing to see our almost three year old son react to the pickled flavor of the pineapple chunks! The Ripped Pasta was a tasty treat and different from your typical pasta dish in that the pasta was flat, wide and layered on top of itself. The Ripped Pasta had a butter glaze, mushrooms and lightly topped with Parmesan cheese slices.
Here are some photos taken by me and others from around Facebook, Yelp and beyond…
